Sprinkler System Installation Irrigation Controllers
An irrigation controller is the device that runs a sprinkler system and are sometimes called irrigation timers. You program it to water at times of the day and for lengths of time, so you don't have to do it by hand. A good controller, programmed well, can make the difference between a landscape that is efficiently watered and one that is not.
A smart controller is considered the best way to control an irrigation system for several reasons, like:
- Use weather data will help to avoid over watering and save water.
- Allow you to divide your landscape into different zones, each with its own watering schedule.
- Can be controlled and monitored remotely.
- Help to conserve water by adjusting the watering schedule based on weather conditions, reducing the risk of over watering.
Sprinklers Heads
Sprinkler heads are used in irrigation systems to distribute water to a specific area of a landscape. It is connected to the irrigation pipe. Irrigation heads come in a variety of designs, including pop-up, rotor, and impact. Pop-up heads are flush with the ground when not in use and rise up to release water when activated. Rotor heads have a rotating nozzle that sprays water in a circular pattern, while impact heads use a hammer to propel water out of the nozzle.
Valves
A valve is a device used in irrigation systems to control the flow of water to different areas of a landscape. It is connected to a water source and a series of pipes or tubing that distribute the water to sprinklers, drip emitters, or other types of irrigation devices. Irrigation valves can be manual or automatic.
Irrigation Backflow Preventer
A backflow preventer is a device that’s installed on your home’s water pipes that allows water to flow in one direction but never in the opposite direction. Its sole job is to prevent drinking water from being contaminated due to backflow.
Pipes
Piping is used in irrigation systems to transport water from the source to the areas of a landscape where it is needed. Pipes can be made of various materials such as PVC, polyethylene, or metal, and can be either rigid or flexible. Irrigation pipes are connected to an irrigation valve, which controls the flow of water and directs it to different areas of the landscape. The size, material, and type of irrigation pipe used will depend on the specific irrigation needs and the type of system being used.
